FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q:
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
A: The price
quoted is usually per vehicle. Where two or more vehicles have
been requested the price will be given per vehicle or for group of
vehicles - whichever way you prefer.
Q: If my
plane is delayed, will the driver wait for me?
A: Yes.
Flights are often a little early or a little late, and your driver
will wait for you. If the delay is excessive, your driver will
ascertain the expected delay and inform us or your nominated contact
(eg. your office or a family member) that the flight has been
delayed, whereupon we will ask for further instructions.
Q: What
happens if my flight arrives early?
A: Some
companies try to estimate how long it will take you to clear Customs
and try to time their arrival to coincide with how long they hope
you will be delayed. We check expected arrival
times regularly and the driver will leave Cardiff earlier than
scheduled if your flight is indicating an early arrival.
Unlike some chauffeur companies, we aim to be at the arrivals area BEFORE
your flight was scheduled to land so that we can be sure to be
waiting for you if your flight is a little early or you clear
customs and baggage quickly.
Q: How will
I recognise my chauffeur?
A: Our
chauffeurs are very experienced at meeting clients at
arrivals. He will be positioned so that he is clearly visible
and will be holding a clear notice with your name clearly
printed on it.
Q: What if I
do miss my chauffeur for some reason, eg, I am delayed at Customs.
A: Your driver
will go to the nearest Information Desk where he will arrange for an
announcement to be made. You should also do this if you do not
hear an announcement or are concerned that you may have missed your
driver.
Q:
Safety. I am a woman who will be travelling alone. How
can I be sure that the driver is who he says he is?
A: We carry
many passengers including lone female travellers, and occasionally
unaccompanied children, and we take your safety very
seriously. All our drivers carry a photo. ID card. If
you would like extra reassurance, we can arrange a password known
only to you, us and the designated driver, or can confirm his
identity by telephone, if you wish.
Q: Do your
prices include VAT or is VAT extra?
A: Because we
have both business and personal users amongst our clients, we always
quote at the net price not including VAT. Many business
users want to know the price net of VAT because they can claim VAT
expenditure if they are VAT registered. If you want to know
the full price plus VAT please just ask for a VAT inclusive price.
Q: Are you
fully insured to carry passengers?
A: Yes.
We are covered by insurance for what is known as "Hire and
Reward". This means we are insured to carry passengers
for commercial purposes, ie. clients who pay for the service, in
addition to normal use.
Q: If I book
a car for my wedding, will that car be booked for any other weddings
taking place on the same day?
A: No. We
only ever book one wedding per day. This means that we will
not be delayed in arriving for you because a previous wedding
has run late. This also means that we won't abandon you if
your wedding is delayed. In exceptional circumstances, if
excessive waiting occurs, or if you require additional journeys on
the day, this may be charged but you will be advised at the time.
Q: Can you
make more than one trip for me on the wedding day? For
example, can you take the groom first, or take the bridesmaids and
then return for the bride?
A: Yes, but
this will depend on how far apart the various locations are.
We are happy to advise you when planning the journeys for your big
day, and many couples find that they do not need as many extra cars
as they thought. This can be a big saving on your wedding
expenditure.
If you know in
advance that you will be requiring extra journeys for other guests
etc., please make sure that you discuss this with us at the time of
booking. Although we are happy to accommodate the unforeseen
where possible, it will be less for you to worry about on the day if
you have pre-booked the journeys into the schedule.
Your driver will
always try to speak with you or one of the members of the main
party, eg. best man, father of the bride etc. before he or she
leaves. This is to advise you that the car(s) are leaving and
to ascertain that you have no additional requirements or last minute
emergencies.
Q: What
happens if I cancel my booking? cancellations
A: Where a
booking is cancelled due to circumstances beyond your control we try
to be understanding and reasonable. For business travel or
social events, cancellation fees may be charged for cancellations
within 24 hours of the scheduled journey, with a further charge if
the vehicle is already on its way to collect you. Deposits for
wedding bookings are non-refundable.
Q: How do I
pay?
A: We accept cash,
personal cheques with cheque guarantee card, business cheques,
credit cards, Switch, BACS.
